(I) The Record of Destraint Sales.

(II) The Distraint Register, as to amounts paid

by the Auctioneers.

(a) Not that I know of, unless there is some particular reason for his attendance, disputes &c.

(b) Yes. I should give them a week or fornight, or three weeks if there was special reason. I should not let it go for more than a week without reporting.

(c) (I). Yes.

(II) Yes.

The Record of Distraint Sales should not be post-

ed as to net proceeds till the cheque is received. Hill

did not tell me to do this. I should take the shroff's !

word as to payment. I should say this is one of the

most important official books.

What is your experience as to the manner in which

account sales are rendered and payments made by the

auctioneer?

Cheques were always, in my experience, made out to the Registrar.

Should cheques accompany the account sales?

Yes.

Are account sales addressed by the Auctioneer

to the Registrar, to the First Bailiff or to the Shroff?

Mr. Lammert never sends under cover. They are

handed to me personally by him or his clerk.
